AltScore
Credit limits (AltCard)

The Limits screen

Limits is the Hub screen where credit-risk and portfolio teams review and change AltCard credit limits. It is built for changes in bulk: raising the limit of a whole segment before a sales campaign, trimming the lines of a group whose risk went up, or loading the limits a model calculated outside the platform. It is meant for changes that cover tens, hundreds or thousands of lines at once.

Every bulk change goes through the same cycle. You describe the change, the platform measures its impact against the current limits, you review the numbers, and only then is it applied to the credit lines. Each bulk change is called a batch. A batch can wait for review, apply right away, apply on a date, or expire on a date and put the previous limits back.

Who can use it

The screen is available when AltCard is enabled for your organization. Without it, the Hub shows an unauthorized message instead of the screen.

Applying, discarding or retrying a batch requires permission to modify credit lines. Without it, those buttons stay disabled and show the reason when you hover over them: You don't have permission to modify credit limits. Contact an administrator.

The four tabs

Limits shows every credit line with its client, status, assigned amount, consumption and last update, plus four summary cards: enabled lines, total assigned, average assigned and average utilization.

Recommendations lists the changes waiting for a decision. Some are individual, for a single customer; others are batches. This is where a batch you created without applying it waits for you. See Recommendations and schedule.

Schedule lists the dates on which batches activate or revert, and whether the hourly check that acts on those dates is running. See Recommendations and schedule and Temporary changes.

Change History records what was actually applied: previous limit, new limit, the limit AltScore suggested, the reason, who made the change and when. The Limits, Recommendations and Change History tabs can be exported with the Export button at the top of the screen.

Two ways to change limits

The Modify Limits button opens a menu with two entries.

  • Manual adjustment: you decide the new limits, either by uploading a file with them or by choosing a segment and a percentage. See Change limits by file and, for the percentage, Change limits by policy.
  • Apply policy: a policy published in the Workflow Builder calculates the limit for each customer in the scope you choose. See Change limits by policy.

Some organizations do not see Apply policy in the menu, because it can be hidden by configuration. Manual adjustment is always available.

In this section

In the Borrower Central API, batches are called change sets.
