Tracking a batch

Every batch has a detail page. You reach it from Review and apply or View detail in the Recommendations tab, from the batch tab of Change History, or from the label of a row in Schedule. It is the one place that shows where the batch is, what it changed and what went wrong.

Statuses

The Stage of a batch is one of these:

StatusMeaning
To reviewCreated and waiting for someone to apply it
To review with errorsCreated, but some lines could not be prepared; the rest can still be applied
ProcessingIts lines are being prepared or applied
CompletedEvery line was applied
Completed with errorsSome lines failed; the others were applied
FailedThe batch stopped before it could finish
CanceledSomeone canceled the processing
DiscardedSomeone discarded it; it will not be applied

The detail page

The Summary tab shows the batch's information (stage, total lines, creation date and author), its Configurations (the floor, the ceiling and whether disabled lines were kept), its Impact before and after, and the Change Distribution between increases, decreases, enables and disables. The Manual Review tab lists every line with its current limit, new limit and status.

While a batch is To review, you can change a line in Manual Review before applying: edit its new limit or whether its credit is enabled. Your edit takes priority over the value in the file, the column Edited By records who made it, and Reset to original undoes it.

The actions at the top depend on the status:

  • Apply changes and Discard, while the batch is waiting for review.
  • Retry Failed, when it ended Completed with errors.
  • Cancel processing, while it is processing.
  • Retry processing and Delete batch, when it was canceled or failed. Retry processing is not available for batches created by a policy. Deleting removes the batch and all its lines permanently.

Progress

While the batch is processing, a banner says Preparing line updates... or Applying changes to credit lines..., with a counter of lines done out of the total and an estimate of the remaining time. You can leave the page: the batch keeps running without it, and the page picks up where it is when you come back.

When the batch finishes, a message says how it ended: The batch applied without errors., or The batch finished with 12 lines not applied. if some failed.

Errors and partial results

Lines are applied one by one, so a failure in one line does not stop the others. A batch that finishes with errors shows a red block at the top with how many lines were not applied, the first few with their reasons, and View failed to see all of them.

Read the reason before retrying. Some failures are temporary and go away on a retry, but many are not: a customer whose credit line does not exist, or a currency on the line that differs from the one the batch uses, fails the same way every time. Retry Failed applies the failed lines again and leaves the ones that already succeeded alone.

The failed lines of a batch also appear in the Recommendations tab, grouped in one row per batch, Failed in followed by the batch label. Expand it to see each line and its error, or retry from there. A retry from that row covers every failed line of the batch, not only the one you clicked, and the confirmation says so.

When a batch seems stuck

A batch can stay in Processing even though nothing is running behind it, for example after an interruption on the platform side. The detail page checks for this while the batch is applying: when the process behind it has ended but the batch still says it is processing, a banner tells you it is no longer progressing. Use Cancel processing, and then Retry processing or Delete batch. A batch that is processing cannot be discarded.

Reverts

When a temporary batch reaches its expiry, the hourly check reverts it, with nobody pressing anything on this page. The detail page does not show the revert while it runs or after it finishes: the batch keeps its status. To see whether it happened and how it went, look at the batch's Reverts row in the Schedule tab, which shows the counts of Reverted, left untouched and failed lines.

Lines left untouched are the ones somebody changed during the window. They keep their current limit on purpose and need someone to decide what to do with them. See Temporary changes.

If the live updates stop

Progress and the final result reach the page as live updates. If the connection drops, the page can show numbers that are no longer current without warning you. The page reads the batch again whenever you come back to its browser tab, and reloading it always shows the current state. If a counter has not moved for a while, or you are about to act on what the page says, reload first.

What you see after a reload is always what the platform has recorded, so acting on it is safe: applying or retrying a batch that already finished is refused rather than applied twice.
